Abstract

Waste of oil seed collections, shells and deoiled cakes from current practice of bio-diesel production from Pongamia pinnata seeds, is utilized as a biomass feedstock in a 20 kWe downdraft gasifier. This gasifier is originally conventional wood gasifier. Direct use of this conventional wood gasifier for Pongamia shells leads the blocking of remaining gasified shells in grate region of gasifier reactor. This blocking is noticed as the main problem during the gasification of Pongamia shells. Gap available between the conical grate (16 cm in diameter) and inner wall of gasifier reactor at grate section is found to be too small for free flow of gasified shells. This conventional wood gasifier is modified by replacing the original conical grate with a new fabricated conical grate (15 cm in diameter). Feasibility of waste of oil seed collections for biomass feedstock of a 20 kWe downdraft gasifier is studied in present work. Performances of gasifier are compared for waste of oil seed collections and wood chips in term of calorific value of producer gas and coefficient of thermal conversion. Calorific value of producer gas from wood, Pongamia shells, and Pongamia deoiled cakes is 4.48 MJ/kg, 4.28 MJ/kg, and 2.82 MJ/kg respec-tively. Coefficient of thermal conversion is 0.84, 0.68, and 0.60 for gasification of wood, Pongamia shells, and Pongamia deoiled cakes respectively. An integrated system involving gasifier, spark ignition engine, oil expeller, and decorticator is tested success-fully within 3 hours continuous operation of gasifier on waste of oil seeds collections.

Abstract

Corn is one of Nusa Tenggara Timur main commodities. This plant has prospect to be increased in NTT, because it is adapted to the soil which has calcium deposits with relative low rainfall (dry soil) and high salinity. This research aimed to develop local corn variety through breeding by multi-gamma radiation method, selection, and crossing to obtain the prime seed of the local corn with different characteristics to its source plant.The method of research is breeding of local corn using gamma and multi-gamma radiation methods to produce several varieties of prime seed, so is very easy to select and obtain the prime seed of local corn. The other methods are comprised of observation, sampling, analysis, comparative, and interpretation.The result obtained on the first step (first year) is the selected mutation variety (the prime seed of local corn) with production 11 tons per ha (local yellow corn) and 9 tons per ha (local white corn). The production increase 36.4% (local yellow corn) and 33.3% (local white corn). On the second step (first year), obtained addition variety of selected mutation and more superior variety is resulted of crossing with production 13 tons per ha (local yellow corn) and 10 tons per ha (local white corn). The production increases 46.2% (local yellow corn) and 40.0% (local white corn). These results show that the breeding of local corn by multi-gamma radiation method and crossing can produce primer seed and has a certain quality to increase production significantly of the farmer on the sector of corn commodity.

Abstract

The study of carbonate rocks of Zaag Formation shows that the carbonate rock of Paleo-cene-Eocene occurred in Misool Island and outcropped among the rock of Paleozoik– Tertiary. The field survey shows that the Zaag Formation is outcropped at the mid part of the Misool Island from the west to east and also at several the surrounding small islands. The petrography analysis indicated that there are two facies forming the Zaag Formation, indicated found it was form at shoal environment of Packstone Facies and Grainstone Facies. The diagenesis process observed at the thin section is micritisation, cementation, dissolution and tectonic activity.

Abstract

Information technology and ielecommunications to the Internet becomes the main priority in the development of world progress. These developments provide new break-through in health care services mobile using mobile IT devices or socalled mobile doctor (m-doctor). M-doctor has some excess capacity for health care services that can be accessed anytime, anywhere, by anyone. The problems that still esist on still on m-doctor is that the lack of hardware and platforms that required by the system design and ease of access. One also needs a special study of each section dealing with the existing m-doctor in order to get comfortable for the user. The aim of this study is to address the issue by using streaming multimedia as content that can offer a more clear and specific infor-mation. Streaming multimedia services m-doctor require internet connection and good access, and also requires capable hardware to enjoy the overall bias with good services by using phones that support streaming multimedia mobile facilities. Expected results of this study is a software-based content cellular WCDMA, and the main target is to design m-doctor with streaming multimedia services.

Abstract

Madukismo is one of the companies operating in the area of agroindustry with sugar as the main product. In order to exist, the company needs to increase the work effectiveness and efficiency in using the production machines through the planning of maintenance scheduling in order that the machines or units that are going to be used can be operated well, and work properly.The aim of this research is to analyze level requirement of amount of spare-part optimal with Sparepart requirement nomograph approach. This effort is able to increase high production quality, availability and reliability by maximizing equipments age, and also exploiting of effective maintenance. Based on the research result shows that the maintenance of chain eye component, it should be differentiated, basically, on the maintenance time. Determination of feed amounts at "t" periods with level of protection equal to 95% depict amount of requirement of accesses for chain component that availed counted 30 units.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to know the a mount of production prosess ability at PT Ranjang Gajah Tekstil, by data of defect production. The observation based on secondary data, whereas the analysis approach used was p-control graphic with control chart.By using p-control graphic, it seemed that there was observation out of control caused by uncontrol production. Through some improvements, the result which was abtained showed that production process ability caused by lusi movement decreasing 0,163%, pakan movement decreasing 0,259%, ngapuk decreasing 0,054% , and sobek decreasing 0,041%.It was found that the special cause of defect data of lusi movement were, one the 21st observation cause of rusty sisir the 33rd, 34th adn 37th ones cause of broken fork gird. For pakan movement defects found that on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 16th, 17th, and 52nd ones caused by loose shuttle, on the 4th and 5th ones cause of less good shuttle replacement, and on the 6th one cause of sisir kecak. Therefore the result of this study used by the company in order to do improvements and be able to observe process ability continually in order to be stable.

Abstract

MULTIFAB is a company engaged in the field of technical companies highly specialist themselves in the field of production, fabrication equipment and specialized structures used in the chemical industry, petrochemical and oil and gas. In the normal process of production, especially in the welding process, its output is still a lot of experience of disability. Efforts to increase product quality and prevent and minimize product failure, this requires an analysis of quality control that is with a chain reaction analysis. From the data processing, as an early stage concept identifiers use problem FMEA, failure indicates that the effects of the highest-rated Slag Inclusion Risk Priority Number (RPN) at 256. Stage of quality improvement can be made using the method of Kaizen Kaizen is the Five-Step Plan and the 5W 1H. Chain reaction from the results of quality improvement. This is done by measuring the productivity of labor performed before and after improvement of quality. From the measurement of productivity, an increase of 0.01 and calculating the cost of reworks the calculation result of Rp 880 956. Based on the results of processing data on improved quality, causing a chain reaction that is after improved quality, productivity will increase and production costs willdecrease because the repair of products will be reduced.

Abstract

Tasikmalaya District occupied the area of 2.680,47 km2 and located on the elevation between 0 to 3,000 m above sea level with hilly, highland, and slopy morphology. Dry month occurred on August, while wet months occurred on the period of September to July. The average monthly precipitation is ranged between 92 – 320 mm with total of yearly precipitation 2,532 mm. The monthly precipitation is ranged between 96 – 116 mm, with total of yearly evapotranspiration about 1,307 mm. Water reserves in Tasikmalaya District is ranged between 23 to 207 mm, covering in the area of 2,680.5 km2, then total of reserved water is 1,306,515 m3 to 11,758,655 m3. Water for domestic needs is 222.150 m3/day. 169.805 m3/day excess water can be used for approximately 117.920 hectares agriculture or approximately 393.067 hectares of land crops.

Abstract

Core/SWC and/or cuttings data from carbonate reservoir have to optimalized in their descriptions, actually for understanding their carbonate characterization. The cha-racterization is includes lithofacies and visible porosity. The method are consists of: core recovery, texture, orga-nism abundance, specific features, type and porosity percentage that have resulted a visible porosity. The precise calculation of visible porosity and factors of pore forming are best way to get a cementation factor which easily changes both ver-tical and horizontally. The carbonate depo-sitional facies and diagenetic process are use-ful to get a diagenetic unit that confirmed by cemen-tation process.

Abstract

C.V Pinus Bag’s Specialist runs for manufacture, especially in making many kinds of bags. By keeping quality of the products, it is the key to reach the goal of the company. This company applies production system of make to order which the orders have different model, numbers, and uncertain time cause mental workload was often felt by the workers. Therefore, it is studied by analyzing mental workload.In the study of men-tal workload, it was used the measurement of workload subjectively by using NASA-Task Load Index (TLX) method. This method is very effective for content 6 indicators (mental demand, physical demand, temporal demand ,performance, efforts, and frustration de-mand) with 16 employees of the company as respondents.The result that is obtained in this study shows that the mental workload NASA-TLX which is accepted by the employ-yees have been in high condition of workload. This can be seen based on the average of Weight Workload (WWL) with scale category; low category (0-9) is no employee, average category (10-29) is no employee, pretty high category (30-49 is no employee, high cate-gory (50-79) is 13 (thirteen) employees, very high category is 3 (three) employees. There-fore, the company needs to care optimal rest schedule to decrease work risk and re design of tasks and workplace in ergonomic.
